Twitter gives priority to the character over words. For a free account, the limit of tweet length is about 280 characters, and for X Premium subscribers the limit exceeds 25000 words.

Instagram also gives priority to the characters over the words. It allows 2200 characters which equals 338 to 440 words per post.
